In collaboration with another fellow here, the original Newgrounds Trivial Trivia game is updated & ready to go in the year 2024. The update brings the game to HTML5 allowing for it to be played even easier than before. On top of that, questions are updated and should now be correct even 8 years later.

The original questions are mostly unchanged (some are reworded to read better), and some questions needed to be replaced due to them referencing changed or defunct features (goodbye PS3 themes!) so check it out and brush off that NG knowledge you may have.

What's New?

Well, the obvious answer is the brand new look, brand new sounds, and brand new feel of the game. It's hip, colorful, and pretty responsive compared to some of the other stuff I've submitted. Give it a peek and see what you think. Outside of that...

Scores - Each game has a maximum score of 100 points. Each question will reward up to 5 points - 3 for correctness, up to 2 for time. Your first 5 seconds of a question are free, but if you drop below 10s, you get 1 time point, below 5s you get 0 time points.

Leaderboards - Two new leaderboards exist - the previous one should still be active for the flash version of the game. It is not integrated in the new version.

Medals - Due to scoring being different, medals are now updated to reward to the new scale. The final medal is slightly easier to obtain and you actually have a chance to read the question without losing the ability to get this medal.

What's next?

Another iteration of Trivial Trivia will be coming near the end of this month (prob the last Thursday or Friday). There's some features this update is testing out that will be fully functional in 2ish weeks, so keep an eye out for what's to come.

Are other versions going to be redone?

Probably. I'd prefer to nuke some of the submissions out of orbit but with how the last few weeks have been going a 'refresh' may work out. Kabobble is handling some quizzes in the next submission, so if they are well received I'll let them handle refreshes for any trivia that may have demand for an update.

I'll be posting the main theme of the new version of the game shortly along with a version I'm not too sure how to implement (you'll see). The trivia loop won't be posted - it's short, repetitive, and isn't all that great by itself in my opinion.
