I like it, good vampire survival style game that IMO has better visual work to it. It's pretty basic in its current state and I'd love to see work continued on the game - upgrades, different characters, and a little balancing (difficulty seems to really ramp up around level 10 without a good way to heal/dodge).

Good work!

P.S. some explanation of the stats on the pause menu would help too - not too sure what luck does?

rumyoonomicon responds:

Thank you for playing and I'm really glad you like the game. I'll plan on adding a hover details for the skills at the pause menu for more deets since right now there's only 10 skills and 5 passive perks you can get. Quite a handful but in the future. I'll expand the skills and add their info as well. Luck... well. that doesn't do anything right now, Was trying to think of something to use that in the future that would make sense.

I kinda like the game, pretty neat with a really cool aesthetic going on here. Only suggestions are related to the letter pairs and shop.
At first I thought any word containing the listed letters would suffice (eg. pair being sw, 'sword' would work, 'words' would work) but found that was not the case. I think it would be cool if we could craft words with the letters in any order as that would give some additional flexibility. I also found the pairs would repeat somewhat frequently which isn't bad but I ended up re-using words from session to session.
For the shop - I played through 3-4 games and had enough credit to purchase the time upgrade. Pricing on the other items seems a little high as I'd need to play a dozen or more times to unlock some of the upgrades. I feel like some of the gameplay upgrades would be fun to play around with but I don't know if I'll be sticking around with the dozen or so times needed to unlock them. Maybe to keep the grind going have some cosmetics available to unlock for the higher prices (shop cat as the typing mascot / different color backgrounds / etc)?

Overall pretty neat game!

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I'm going to try to get an update out soon with all that in mind. Your idea of "I think it would be cool if we could craft words with the letters in any order as that would give some additional flexibility." Is honestly an amazing idea, I definitely will be adding that in the next update. I will be lowering the prices of items as well, I always did think they were a little expensive, and this gave me confirmation. Thanks for your feedback dude! I appreciate you! :)

Glad you enjoyed the game!

A very interesting concept for a clicker/incremental game, just not a big fan of how slow it is and how upgrades/progression isn't too well explained from the start (I can see the medals but am a bit afraid to ask how many books it'll take for that one achievement + am not sure how selling books for $7 in the beginning translates to legislation). I made it about 4-5 books in before writing this and am not too sure how the ghostwriter is helping me.
My other main criticism is the lack of immersion or 'pazazz'. While the text is written it would be cool to hear a typewriter or pen writing on paper for example. Maybe after a book is completed a 'thud' or closing of a book sound is played. Beyond sound improvements to the visuals would be cool. I see this is a game jam submission so understand there's a time crunch but wanted to offer some suggestions and things i think may make this a bit better.

I may be missing something, but beyond clicking the themes to change the animated lucky cat, are there any other features? As per your description, what's the motivation/idea behind the gadget (I checked the website but didn't see anything for this specific thing)?

DSHenry responds:

There aren't any other features. There isn't really a specific motivation for making this, I was just messing around with an emulator an decided to make stuff in it by installing Flash onto the emulator. There isn't really a point to any of these Flash projects, I just wanted the Flash experience. That's why I called it an experiment.

Pretty neat little game, can't say I had any idea of what to expect but I did enjoy it.

TheDiamondfinder responds:

Glad you like it! I'm shocked that the 30-second panic title doesn't give you enough info, but I GUESS I get it

Also congrats, you beat the game after the achievements were published before I could!

Interesting clicker game, got some cool ideas going on with it. It is a little slow to start but seems to have some good progression & upgrades put together.

TheKillerbro responds:

Appreciated, yo.
Glad you liked it.

Pretty simple, visuals could be better. I see the game does not save after a page refresh unfortunately.
I did notice that around 25-30k distance I started falling below the floor and the run never ended. Either having a wall/screen to end the run at this distance, or a button to reset in cases like this could help especially since data doesn't keep after page refreshes.

wormius responds:

Yea, I'm working on saving and more map to jump to. Didn't know that many people would reach so far. Thatnks for playing for that long.

Could use some work, such as how the character gets stuck when running into platforms. Since we're also race against the blindrate, having that bar follow us through the level would also be nice (currently it seems to stick near the beginning of the level with the text explaining it).

yelllowflash responds:

getting stuck when running into platforms is a known bug, and the bar does follow you.It doesnt follow you in tutorial thats all

Very well done! love the aesthetic of the game!

Wolod responds:

Thanks!
